"This Is Me" – A Day of Drawing with Lydia Thornley
Part of the Alice Billing House Time Capsule Project
Join local illustrator and visual artist Lydia Thornley for a creative day of self-portrait workshops designed to leave a mark on the future. As part of the Time Capsule project at Alice Billing House, you’ll take part in playful, reflective illustration sessions and contribute a unique piece to be sealed away for the next 80 years.
Workshop Focus:
In This Is Me, you’ll explore what a self-portrait really is. What’s the essence of you? Is it your face or could it be an object? Through guided drawing, lively discussion, and simple mark-making, you’ll create a visual introduction of yourself for future generations.
What to Expect:
– Fun warm-up exercises to get your creativity flowing
– A conversation about identity and visual storytelling
– Guided self-portrait drawing
– The chance to add your work to the official Time Capsule
– All materials provided
Who It’s For:
These workshops are suitable for all levels. Some drawing experience is helpful, but not required. Curiosity and imagination are all you need.
What to Bring:
– An object that represents you (optional)
– Clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy
£8
Concessions: A limited number of free spaces are available for those in need.
