Explore the recently restored South Block of Alice Billing House, a Grade II listed building in Stratford, and learn about future plans for the project!
Originally built in 1905/6 as accommodation for the West Ham Fire Brigade, this historic structure has been transformed into a vibrant creative hub, providing affordable studios for artists and a project space which the community can access for creative endeavours.
Creative Land Trust, Purcell Architects, and Grow Studios are now working together to transform the North Block: still in a state of disrepair, visitors will also be shown around the building while the team share their vision for the next stages of the project.
The event will celebrate the voices of Newham past, present, and future through the exploration of the building’s varied and diverse residents over time.
Please Note: Alice Billing House is an active building site. While formal PPE is not required for this event, we advise attendees to wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear and remain mindful of their surroundings at all times. Designated routes must be followed throughout the visit.
